Check here often for the latest news for groups in Tennessee!

5/15/10

On May 1 and 2, Nashville received more than 13 inches of rain in a 48 hour period, and set a new century flood mark.  Many Nashville homes and businesses were destroyed, and many suffered significant damage.  The Opry Mills Mall, Opry House, and the Gaylord Opryland Resort Hotel suffered significant damage and will be closed for an extended period.  However, NASHVILLE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!  It is important for all of our guests to know that the CMA Music Festival is set to go on June 10-13 with all of it’s venue’s open, and most all of the remaining Nashville area attractions either are, or soon will be open for business.  Nashville needs visitors now more than ever, and we appreciate your consideration in returning your groups to Nashville soon!

Nashville is celebrating the 85th birthday of the Grand Ole Opry with a great package including the Opry and the General Jackson, and as always the Country Music Hall of Fame is a highlight with a tribute to Hank Williams and his family.  Come visit, don’t miss out!

8/18/09

Nashville - The Opry Country Classics show returns to the Grand Ole Opry House on Thursdays this Fall.  September and October Thursday nights at 7pm, the Opry house hosts a tribute to the best  of Opry past.  A little bit slower paced show than the standard Opry, your famous host will bring in today’s talent to share the timeless music of Country Music’s past.  This was a highlight show in the Spring, and is sure to be the same this Fall.Titanic construction

Pigeon Forge - TITANIC is well on its way!  Safe from icebergs in Pigeon Forge, the new Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge is being built right next to the Black Bear Jamboree, and cannot be missed as you enter the Smoky Mountain resort town.  Scheduled to open in April 2010, this is a new and exciting attraction for daytime activities in the Smoky Mountains!

RUMOR CENTRAL - Word on the street is that Belle Island Village, the 100+ million dollar development in the middle of Pigeon Forge that went bankrupt at 90% complete, may have new life.  Keep an eye out here for more information as this will be a great addition to Pigeon Forge when it is completed.

4/8/09 - Lots of great stuff going on in Tennessee this year.

In Nashville, the Country Music USA Show is back and now on the General Jackson Showboat.  Great food, spectacular show, and bringing country music back to the General Jackson.  Way to go Gaylord, this is a real move back to your country roots.  In addition, Gaylord has added a new Grand Ole Opry “Country Classics” Show on Spring and Fall Thursday nights, and the Always Patsy Cline show at the Ryman in the Spring.

In the Smokies we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Smith Family show is now a southern style buffet dinner and show, and the regular favorites like Country Tonite and Dixie Stampede keep packing them in.  Check out the Smoky Mountain Stimulus Package for a great package deal for the Smoky Mountains!

News - Belle Island Village is in bankruptcy, and though 90 percent complete, opening is delayed indefinitely.
